Kopi Luwak Coffee – The Most Expensive Coffee
Have you ever tasted the world’s most expensive and most flavorful coffee? Now here is another question that seems to be a bit peculiar: Have you ever drunk something that comes from an animal? You would perhaps tell me that yes you already did drink something from a goat or a cow… milk. Well milk is a famous drink that usually comes from cows and goats. What about drinking coffee that comes from a cat? Have you ever tried it? If you haven’t tasted this unique coffee yet, then you have to read this one before you decide whether you will or will not want to have a sip on the most expensive coffee in the whole world – the Kopi Luwak Coffee.
Kopi Luwak Coffee is also known as Civet Coffee. If you are someone new with this kind of coffee, you will probably get surprised with the origin of this type of coffee. Why is it that this coffee is called Kopi Luwak or Civet Coffee? This type of coffee is called such because it is derived from the civet cats themselves. No, not what you think. Cats don’t produce ready to drink coffee but they can produce coffee which h are ready to be processed to supply the increasing number of people who demand on Kopi Luwak.
Okay, let us not make the discussion too long as I suppose that you are already eager to know why Kopi Luwak Coffee is also called Civet Coffee.
You must probably have that certain hint in mind but I presume that you would still become surprised once you’ve learned that the famous and very expensive Kopi Luwak comes from poop of the civet cats. You must have that funny look on your face right now. But, hey! I’m not yet finished about this coffee.
In know that this is a surprising and somewhat a shocking reality but that is the one of the finest truths we have in this world. The most expensive yet the most adored coffee in the world comes from the fecal maters that oozed out from the butt of a civet cat.
However, I would like to make my self clear that that is actually the humorous part of Kopi Luwak. Before Kopi Luwak is processed, the collected beans from the feces of the civets are thoroughly cleaned and dried. Once these beans become completely dried, they undergo thorough roasting procedures for the purpose of killing every bacterium that cling to every single bean. After the beans are thoroughly roasted, they are properly gridded and packed.
The production of Kopi Luwak Coffee is limited because the number of pounds produced every year depends on the number of civets that fed on the coffee berries in a coffee plantation. The production also depends on the abundance of coffee berries that the coffee trees bore. So, there is no denial that Kopi Luwak Coffee is the most expensive coffee all over the world. This is because it is rare and production is actually limited.
